Course Objective

To provide trainees with required knowledge and experience within Air Traffic Control so that he or she can continue either, with On the Job Training at an Approach Control Office, or directly with Area Control Course in order to become a licensed Air Traffic Controller.

Given lecture and practical training in an Approach Control simulator, trainee will have sufficient knowledge of Approach Control to meet the standards prescribed in ICAO Annex 1, Personnel Licensing.

Qualification of Applicant

The participants shall;

• Have completed high school education or equivalent, or have favorable experience and knowledge in the aviation profession
• Have medical fitness as specified in the ICAO Annex 1 – Personnel Licensing (Have medical fitness as specified in the ICAO Annex 1 – Personnel Licensing (CATC shall not permit a trainee air traffic controller to receive instruction in an operational environment unless the trainee air traffic controller holds a current Class 3 Medical Assessment)
• Have a good command of English language both written and spoken
