Course Objective

To provide the theoretical knowledge required to meet the licensing standards and rating requirements in accordance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 1 – Personnel Licensing and sufficient practical training in a synthetic environment to enable him/her to obtain at least one of an aerodrome, approach or area control rating after completing the prescribed on – the – job training period in the appropriate ATC unit for which a rating is sought.

Qualification of Applicant

The participants shall;

• Have completed high school education or equivalent, or have favorable experience and knowledge in the aviation profession
• Have medical fitness as specified in the ICAO Annex 1 – Personnel Licensing (Have medical fitness as specified in the ICAO Annex 1 – Personnel Licensing (CATC shall not permit a trainee air traffic controller to receive instruction in an operational environment unless the trainee air traffic controller holds a current Class 3 Medical Assessment)
• Have a good command of English language both written and spoken
